Assoc. Prof. Dr. Volkan ÇOBAN — Energy Efficiency Specialist
Innovative engineering, sustainable energy
About
I have broad experience in renewable energy systems and strong expertise in bio-waste-to-energy technologies. For more than ten years I have worked on the end-to-end development of biogas projects, covering feasibility studies, process design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operational optimization.
I have brought numerous turnkey biogas plants into operation and provided technical support to improve stability, gas yield, and profitability.
Alongside project execution, I advise on electricity economics, renewable energy investments, and financial modeling, helping industrial customers assess their CAPEX/OPEX structures, electricity market dynamics, tariff effects, and long-term returns on investment. My work supports decision-making for energy generation assets, efficiency projects, and sustainable transition strategies.
As an Energy Efficiency Specialist and a certified Energy Manager/Auditor, I carry out industrial energy assessments, waste heat recovery studies, process diagnostics, and resource efficiency analyses. My engineering background lets me design solutions that deliver measurable reductions in energy consumption, operating costs, and carbon footprint.
From biogas systems to industrial energy management, and from electricity market analysis to water-energy integration, my core focus in all of my work is to combine engineering, economics, and sustainability into practical and financially viable strategies that support the transition to low-carbon, resource-efficient industrial operations.
