What is a batch reactor?
Batch reactors are a type of reactor in which the raw materials are divided into fractions and those fractions react chemically in sequence. These particular reactors pause production once one operation is finished, in order to move on to the next. That feature is what gives them the name "batch reactor".
Advantages of batch reactors:

Flexibility: they can be used for different chemical reactions.

Easy control: reaction time and temperature can be controlled easily.

High yield: they can give a high yield for certain reactions.

Low cost: their relatively simple design keeps installation and operating costs low.
Disadvantages of batch reactors:

Low production capacity: they have a lower production capacity than continuous reactors.

Time loss: after every batch, emptying the reactor and again
Where batch reactors are used:

Pharmaceutical production: they are used in producing different drugs and pharmaceutical products.

Chemical production: they are used in producing paint, plastics, fertilizer and other chemicals.

Food processing: they are used for preserving and processing foods.

Research and development: they are used to develop new chemical reactions and products.
