What is a Flange?
A flange is a connecting element generally used to join pipes or pipe fittings or to fix a piece of equipment to a surface. Made from a metal disc, flanges are provided with holes and a mating face. What Are the Types of Flanges?

7. Lap Joint Flanges: Lap joint flanges are used to make a connection by lapping the ends of two pipes over each other and fixing them with bolts. They resemble flat flanges but provide a stronger and more leak-tight connection. They are preferred in high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
8. Spectacle Flanges: Spectacle flanges consist of a ring that wraps around the pipe and is fixed with bolts. These flanges allow a connection to be made without any need to drill the pipe, and a gasket is used for sealing. They are common in low-pressure and medium-pressure applications.
