What is a Scrubber?
Scrubber systems are advanced air treatment solutions used in industrial facilities to bring air pollution under control and remove harmful emissions. Widely used across sectors such as chemicals, oil refineries, metalworking, the paper and pulp industry, wood processing plants and the food and pharmaceutical industries, these systems effectively filter out pollutants such as gas, vapor, dust and particulates, and so protect the environment and human health.
Scrubber units draw the polluted air in through a defined system and remove the pollutants by absorption, adsorption, chemical reaction or physical processes. However, because the pollutants pass into the water, the wastewater that forms also has to be treated properly.

Scrubber Types
1. Wet Scrubber
Wet scrubber systems clean the air by passing the pollutants into an aqueous solution. Water vapor forms during this process and further steps may be needed. It is an effective method particularly for removing gas and acidic vapor.
2. Dry Scrubber
Dry scrubber systems remove pollutants using solid or liquid absorbents. Because no water is used, no extra water vapor is released and wastewater production is at a minimum.
3. Electrostatic Scrubber
This system holds and filters the pollutants in the air using electrostatic charges. It offers an efficient cleaning process with low energy consumption.
