How is Polyester Resin Produced?
Polyester resins are produced by the polyesterification reaction of polyfunctional acids (dicarboxylic acids) and polyfunctional alcohols (glycols). In this reaction, acid and alcohol molecules combine to form ester bonds, and long-chain polymers are created.
Production Process:

Raw Material Preparation: Dicarboxylic acids and glycol are mixed in set proportions.

Condensation: The mixture is heated at high temperature in the presence of a catalyst and the water is driven off.

Polymerization: After the condensation step the resin is cooled and the polymerization reaction is continued until the viscosity reaches the level required.

Finishing: Additives and colorants can be added to the resin and it can be brought to its final form.
